Important Safety Information

WARNING: RISK OF THYROID C-CELL TUMORS In rodent studies, tirzepatide has been shown to cause thyroid C-cell tumors. It is unknown if this occurs in humans. Zepbound is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Clinical Considerations for Initial Titration

• Dose Escalation: The 2.5 mg dose is intended to be used for 4 weeks. Following this period, the dosage is typically increased to 5 mg weekly to achieve the target therapeutic effect, as 2.5 mg is not intended for long-term glycemic or weight management maintenance.

• Gastrointestinal Tolerance: Patients should be monitored for nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If these symptoms become severe, they should be reported to a healthcare provider.

• Injection Technique: Because this presentation is a vial, patients must be instructed on the proper use of sterile syringes to ensure an accurate 0.5 mL dose is drawn and administered.

• Contraindications: History of MTC/MEN 2; known hypersensitivity to tirzepatide.
